The Rock Fishing Category had 101 contestants to play at Lailai Coast. Due to high waves, the tournament scheduled for October 21 was shifted to the next day. The Preliminary Match was held on the 22nd ,which was immediately followed by the Finals on the 23rd.
MIYAGAWA AKIRA(宮川 明) who was the Champion at the 1st Fishing World Cup in Nagasaki, having caught a tropical porgy, climbed to the top this time also.
LAI I-MIN(賴逸民) of Taiwan stood in the second place by catching threadsail filefish, while LEE CHUL HOON(이철훈) of Korea won the 3rd place.
